Technical Overview:
The Tesla Powerwall system relies on robust communication channels between the battery, the Gateway (energy management system), and the Tesla Cloud. Data, including SOC, voltage, current, and temperature, is transmitted via a Modbus TCP connection over the local network. The Gateway processes this data and synchronizes it with the Tesla Cloud for remote monitoring and control via the Tesla app. Lag indicates an interruption or slowdown in one or more of these communication paths. A faulty Wi-Fi connection, incorrect network settings, outdated firmware, or cloud server issues can all contribute to communication delays. Signal integrity of the Modbus communication is crucial for accurate and timely data transmission.
